faces

statement of intent I

My creative practice is rooted in the tangible connection between people and the places and objects they interact with.

Preferring to work primarily in pen, pencil, and marker, I study the subtleties of posture, gesture, and environment, using line work to convey both form and feeling. Recently I have also been experimenting with other mediums including, acrylic, watercolour, clay, and small model building.

places

statement of intent II

While my background in political science at the University of Toronto may seem unrelated to industrial design, it strongly shapes my perspective. Political science taught me to analyze systems — how policies, infrastructure, and resources shape lives. That lens continues to influence my interest in how thoughtful, human-centred design can improve quality of life. By combining analytical training with creative practice, I aim to design objects and spaces that serve people and communities meaningfully. From large-scale municipal environments to the intimacy of a single room, I want to explore how form, function, and context can create places people not only use, but enjoy.

things

statement of intent III

I often draw inspiration from both nature and the built world around me — from the lines and proportions of public buildings to the way light moves through a park, or how a single bench can invite connection.

These observations fuel my belief that good design is not an aesthetic afterthought but a vital tool for shaping how we live, work, and interact. creative practice is rooted in the tangible connection between people and the places and objects they interact with.

statement of intent IV

At OCAD University, I hope to join a community that values conceptual depth, craftsmanship, and innovation.

My goal is to contribute a perspective that bridges hand-drawn artistry with functional design, exploring how the objects we create shape the way people interact with their environments — and with each other.
